2026년 부산섹션은 권용진, 권현지, 임지훈 세 창작자의 작품을 소개한다. 이들은 부산을 기반으로 활동하며 자신만의 영화 문법을 만들어가려는 신진 연출자들이다. 권용진은 <10월의 어느 멋진 날에> 이후 지난해 부산 인터시티 레지던시 영화제작사업을 통해 두 번째 장편 <베베>를 칸에서 제작했다. 긴 숏을 밀도 있게 끌고 가는 연출로 자신의 리듬을 보여준 그는, 이번엔 현장이라는 변수에 즉흥적으로 반응해 완성한 단편으로 또 다른 가능성을 보여준다. 권현지는 이미지의 힘을 아는 연출자로, 그의 작품에서 때로는 이미지가 서사보다 강한 인상을 남기며 관객을 그의 세계로 불러들이는 통로가 된다. 그는 자신이 원하는 그림을 알고 이를 다룰 줄 아는 감각이 있다. 임지훈은 첫 번째 다큐멘터리로 제27회 부산독립영화제 심사위원특별상과 관객심사단상을 동시에 수상했다. 나와 가족을 다루는 작품은 많다. 그런데도 그의 작품을 기억하게 만드는 힘은, 치밀한 구조와 스타일 대신 거칠어도 정직하게 영화를 대하는 태도에서 비롯할 것이다. 부산독립영화의 오늘이자 그들의 내일을 더욱 기대하게 만드는 작품들을 부산섹션에서 소개한다.
The 2026 Busan Section presents the works of three emerging filmmakers: Kwon Yong-jin, Kwon Hyunji, and Lim Jihoon. Based in Busan, they are young directors developing their own cinematic languages. Following , Kwon Yong-jin completed his second feature film through last year’s Busan Intercity Residency Film Project. Known for revealing his own rhythm through long takes sustained with intensity, he now shows another possibility through a short film completed by responding instinctively to the unpredictability of the filmmaking process. Kwon Hyunji is a director who understands the power of images. In her films, images sometimes leave a stronger impression than the narrative itself, becoming a passage that leads audiences into her world. She knows the images she wants and has the sensibility to bring them to life. Lim Jihoon received both the Jury Special Award and the Audience Jury Award at the 27th Busan Independent Film Festival for his first documentary. Many films explore the self and family. Yet what makes his work memorable is not a meticulous structure or distinctive style, but his raw and honest approach to filmmaking. The three short films presented in the Busan Section represent the present of Busan independent cinema while making us eager for what these filmmakers will create next.
