전 세계의 영화들을 보는 경험은 항상 새로운 감각을 일깨워 줍니다. 그 이유에 대해서 생각해 보면 물리적인 거리감은 물론 언어의 차이 혹은 문화의 다양성이 존재하기 때문입니다. 그러나 영화를 보고 있으면 그러한 이유들은 어느새 약해지고 단순하게 영화 그 자체를 보고 있다는 사실만 남게 됩니다.
새로운 세계를 경험하게 만드는 작품들은 여전히 우리에게 놀라움을 주었으며, 우리가 이미 아는 이야기들 또한 언어에 따라, 배우에 따라, 공간에 따라, 또 전혀 다른 이야기가 탄생한다는 것을 깨닫게 해주었습니다. 이러한 발견은 영화의 가능성이 무한대라는 것을 의미한다고 생각합니다.
하나의 이야기가 무수히 많은 경우의 수로, 무수히 다른 영화로 탄생한다는 것은 어쩌면 심사하는 입장이 아닌 관객 혹은 같은 창작자로서 기분 좋은 발견이기도 했습니다.
영화는 그렇기 때문에 우리에게 익숙함과 동시에 새로움을 주는 것일지도 모릅니다. 이번에도 전 세계의 애정 어린 작품들을 보며 때로는 치열함과 신선함 그리고 감동적인 세계들을 경험했습니다. 수많은 고민들과 실행으로 만들어진 작품들을 제출해 주신 모든 영화 관계자분들에게 다시 한번 존중과 감사의 마음을 전합니다.
Watching films from around the world always awakens a new sense within us. Reflecting on why that is, it may stem not only from physical distance, but also from differences in language and the diversity of cultures. Yet once we become immersed in a film, those distinctions gradually fade, leaving only the experience of the film itself.
Works that invite us into unfamiliar worlds continue to surprise us, while even stories we already know reveal themselves anew depending on the language, the actors, the setting, and the perspective through which they are told. Through this, we are reminded of the boundless possibilities of cinema. The fact that a single story can transform into countless different films feels, perhaps, like a joyful discovery—not only as jurors, but also as audiences and fellow creators.
Perhaps this is why cinema offers us both familiarity and newness at the same time. Once again, through works from across the globe, we encountered worlds that were at times intense, refreshing, and deeply moving. We would like to extend our sincere respect and gratitude to all the filmmakers and film professionals who submitted works shaped through immense thought and experimentation.
