시놉시스 Synopsis
17살 카밀라는 곧 청소년 보호시설을 떠나야 한다. 무리의 리더인 그녀는 그동안 더 어린 소녀들에게 엄마와도 같은 존재가 되어주었다. 이제 아이들은 각자의 길을 찾아 나서며, 자신들을 둘러싼 세상 속에서 스스로 희망을 발견해야만 한다.
Seventeen-year-old Kamila is about to leave the youth education center. As the group's leader, she has been like a mother figure to the younger girls. Now, they must find their own way and find hope in the world around them.

17살 카밀라는 폴란드 가정법원의 결정으로 머물던 청소년 보호시설을 곧 떠난다. 어린 소녀들에게 친구이자 언니, 때로는 어머니 같은 존재였던 그룹의 리더가 떠난 자리에는 각자의 결핍과 불안을 안고 살아가는 아이들이 남을 것이다. <THE SECRET LIFE OF FLOWERS>는 일과 점검과 행동 평가로 짜인 시설의 시간 한가운데서 어긋난 돌봄의 자리가 또 다른 돌봄의 형태를 만들어내는 풍경을 포착한 다큐멘터리다. 규율과 불안, 욕설과 농담, 갑작스러운 눈물과 서툰 위로가 뒤섞이는 일상 속에서 아이들 사이에 피어난 관계의 방식이 고스란히 드러난다. 떠나는 이는 자신을 버티게 한 언어를 다른 누군가에게 물려주고, 카메라는 어떠한 동정도 미화도 없이 그 곁에 머문다. 그렇게 알려지지 않은 삶들이 모습을 드러낸다.

Seventeen-year-old Kamila is soon to leave the youth education center where she has been staying by order of the Polish family court. Once this group leader—who served as a friend, an older sister, and sometimes a mother figure to the younger girls—departs, the space she leaves behind will be occupied by children who must continue to navigate their own voids and anxieties. The Secret Life of Flowers is a documentary that captures a landscape where the absence of conventional care gives rise to entirely new forms of caregiving, all unfolding amidst the facility's rigid time dictated by daily routines and behavioral evaluations. As discipline and anxiety, profanity and banter, sudden tears, and awkward consolations intertwine in their daily lives, the intricate ways these children form bonds naturally come to light. The one departing passes down the very words that helped her endure to those staying behind, while the camera lingers quietly by their side, devoid of any pity or romanticization. Through this unfiltered, steadfast gaze, these otherwise hidden lives slowly reveal themselves.
