시놉시스 Synopsis
어머니와 성인이 된 딸의 관계는 깊은 갈등과 병마로 인해 위태롭게 흔들린다. 자신과 어머니 모두를 구원하려는 절박한 심정으로, 딸은 어머니의 내면 깊숙한 곳으로 뛰어든다.
The relationship between a mother and her adult daughter is strained by conflict and illness. In a desperate attempt to save herself and her mother, the daughter delves into her mother's mind.

태풍이 스쳐 지나간 자리에는 쉽게 마르지 않는 습기와 오래 남아 있는 냄새가 있다. 물에 잠기듯 무너져가는 어머니를 구하기 위해, ‘나’는 기이하고도 절박한 방식으로 어머니의 몸속에 차오른 물을 빼내려 한다. 그러나 구하려는 행위는 점차 경계를 흐리게 만들고, ‘나’ 역시 깊은 감정의 수면 아래로 가라앉기 시작한다. 애니메이션 <리큐르(Liquor)>는 물과 신체, 기억의 이미지를 뒤섞으며 가족 안에서 전이되는 슬픔과 돌봄의 감각을 탐색한다. 긁히고 벗겨진 필름을 연상시키는 거친 작화 질감은 불안정한 감정의 표면을 시각화하고, 화면 위를 떠다니는 스크래치와 노이즈는 쉽게 붙잡히지 않는 기억의 흔적처럼 남는 것도 같다. 현실과 환상의 경계를 명확히 구분하지 않은 채, 반복해서 울려 퍼지는 태풍 경보와 물의 이미지는 설명되지 못한 감정을 서서히 증폭시키며, 익숙한 가족의 풍경을 낯선 신체 감각과 공포로 변형시킨다. 상실 이후에도 사라지지 않는 감정의 잔향과 타인의 슬픔 속으로 함께 잠겨 들어가는 감각은 끝내 누구의 슬픔인지조차 흐릿해진다.

In the wake of a passing typhoon, there remains a lingering dampness and a scent that refuses to fade. To save a mother who is crumbling as if drowning, 'I' attempt to drain the water welling up inside her body through a bizarre yet desperate method. However, this act of salvation gradually blurs the boundaries, and 'I', too, begin to sink beneath the surface of profound emotion. The animated short film Liquor intertwines imagery of water, the physical body, and memory to explore the sensations of caregiving and the sorrow that transfers within a family. Its rough visual texture, reminiscent of scratched and peeling film, visualizes the surface of volatile emotions, while the scratches and noise floating across the screen linger like elusive traces of memory. Without drawing a clear line between reality and fantasy, the recurring typhoon warnings and imagery of water slowly amplify inexplicable feelings, transforming a familiar familial landscape into a realm of unfamiliar physical sensations and dread. The emotional reverberations that persist long after loss, along with the sensation of submerging into another's grief, ultimately blur the boundaries of whose sorrow it truly is.
