시놉시스 Synopsis
신경다양성을 지닌 마우고자타는 신경전형적(neurotypical)인 세상 속에서 자신이 머물 자리를 찾으려 애쓴다. 그녀는 잠들 수 없다. 잠들기 위해서는 먼저 깨어나야만 하기 때문이다. 꿈속에서 시간을 착각하는 바람에 우츠(Łódź)의 숨겨진 강을 찾아 떠나는 여정에 늦어버린 마우고자타. 마침내 강을 찾아내지만, 꿈은 이미 사라지고 난 후다.
Neurodiverse Małgorzata tries to find her place in the neurotypical world. She can't fall asleep, she must awake first. Being deceived in her dream about an hour, she is late for the trip in search of Lodz's hidden rivers. She finds the rivers in the end, but the dream is gone.

이 영화의 구성은 크게 꿈의 장면과 현실의 장면으로 나눌 수 있다. 꿈의 장면들은 흑백으로, 현실의 장면들은 컬러로 보여진다. 흑백으로 보여지는 꿈의 장면들은 정말 현실에서는 일어날 것 같지 않은, 누가봐도 꿈 같은 장면이다. 그런데 이상하게 컬러인 현실의 장면을 보다보면 우리가 전에 봤던 흑백의 꿈 장면이 오히려 더 현실 같다는 느낌을 받게 된다. 그 이유는 현실에서 벌어지는 일들이 어딘가 모르게 뒤틀려 있고 기이하기 때문이다. 여자는 관광협회 회원들과 강을 둘러보는 투어를 떠나게 된다. 여자는 분명 영화 속 대사에서 강이 없다는 것을 말했지만 그 투어를 떠난다. 그들은 무엇을 위해 그곳에 갔을까? 그럼 그들이 끝내 도착한 그곳은 과연 어디일까?

The structure of this film can be broadly divided into dream sequences and reality sequences. The dreams are depicted in black and white, while reality is shown in color. The black-and-white dream sequences are unmistakably surreal, portraying events that seem highly unlikely to ever occur in waking life. Strangely, however, as we watch the reality sequences in color, we begin to feel that the preceding black-and-white dreams are actually more realistic. This is because the events unfolding in reality feel subtly distorted and bizarre. The woman embarks on a river tour with members of a tourism association. Although she explicitly states in her dialogue that there is no river, she goes on the tour anyway. For what purpose did they go there? And where exactly is the place they ultimately reach?
