시놉시스 Synopsis

승길과 윤진은 결혼을 앞둔 무명 배우다. 둘은 마지막으로 일본에서 단편영화를 찍고 배우의 꿈을 접기로 한다.

Seung-gil and Yoon-jin are unknown actors who are about to get married. They decide to shoot one last short film in Japan before giving up on their dreams of acting.

프로그램 노트 Program Notes

영화는 적어도 세 개의 시점을 겹쳐 놓았다. 배우로서 오디션 영상을 만드는 두 사람, 일본에서 만난 사람들과 인터뷰를 하는 다큐멘터리 제작진으로서의 두 사람, 그리고 이 과정을 연출과 PD라는 배역으로 경험하는 두 사람. 의도적인 생략과 늦게 제공되는 정보는 이 층위들을 오가며 관객에게 영화를 보는 즐거움을 선사한다. 그리고 그 구조를 끌고 가는 핵심엔 단순한 질문이 자리한다. 지금 이 일을 계속해도 될까? 하지만 이들은 자기연민에 빠져 있지 않고 불확실성 앞에서 무력하지 않으며 고민에 잠식되지도 않는다. 살아간다는 건 답을 찾는 일이 아니라 답을 알 수 없는 채로도 멈추지 않고 성실하게 뚜벅뚜벅 세상을 향해 나아가는 일인지도 모르겠다. 영화는 그 과정에 있는 사람들 모두에게 박수를 보낸다.

The film layers at least three perspectives: two actors making audition tapes, two documentary filmmakers interviewing people they meet in Japan, and the same two people experiencing it all through the roles of director and producer. Deliberate omissions and belated revelations move us between these layers, creating the pleasure of discovery. At its heart is a simple question: Should we keep doing this? Yet they never succumb to self-pity, helplessness, or doubt. Perhaps living is not about finding answers, but continuing to move forward, steadily and earnestly, even without knowing them. The film applauds everyone on that journey.
